Blew Disturbed off the stage at the Warfield in San Francisco last night. I'm guessing most of the folks in the Warfield weren't familiar w/Bloodsimple yet, but by the end it seemed everyone was into it; usually people up in the balcony sit during openers, but most were even standing up there.(!)

Killer "What If I Lost It" opener, ended up w/"Falling Backward" and "Straight Hate." IIRC, they played everything except for "Plunder" and "Leaving Song." Great set, can't wait 'til these guys have more material.

In Disturbed's defense, David Draiman had a cold, his voice was shredded, and they cut their set short by about 15 minutes (75 mins. instead of the scheduled 90 that was on the Warfield agenda). But it's always weird seeing a heavier band open up for a poppier one.

I'll bet you sell a lot of copies of the CD around here today (my favorite disc of '05, for sure!).

Hardcore Disturbed fan at heart, but yeah...David's voice was shot that night.

I will say this, though...I was gifted/cursed with a bizarre "amp up" meter. It's hard as hell to get me moving, but I go off when I do...only band I've ever seen live that managed to do that before 1/12 was Disturbed. I'd heard Plunder before, and, though I liked it, I wasn't expecting too much (especially after Vengince).

You guys are the second band to have ever got me moving. You earned yourself a diehard fan that night, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again on the 6th almost as much as I am Disturbed. Rock on, guys; hopefully I'll get the chance to open for you someday Smiler
